I have no mods or CC downloaded either, just the base game and holidays pack. However since last night evreytime I try to open the sims 4 through origin client it gets to the plum bob load screen, freezes, stops playing any sound, and eventually a few seconds later just glitches out and returns me to my desktop and closes the sims 4 completely and asks me to send an error report to apple(which I've done, probably no help but whatev).I've tried restarting, didn't work. Ports are always a tricky things with games you can either use emulation technology, such as Cider, or produce a native port (coding from the ground up) for the operating system. It was a little laggy but turning off the retina display fixed that. If you own a copy of The Sims 4 on PC then you are automatically entitled to the Mac version of the game on Origin. I purchased the Sims 4 for my mac yesterday and was able to play for about 2-3 hours, stopping and starting a couple times and the game worked pretty fine. I try to open it but then it says it has an error and that i could either ignore it or report it to Apple (which I've also done a lot of times), and i can still not play it. I'm not sure if this a common issue, but if any one can help I would appreciate it.I have kind of the same problem just that I cant even play it for 1 second. I also reduced screen size to windowed size (I get to play a little longer and very difficult to play game), but it still eventually crashes. I've lowered all resolution settings in the game and turned off Retina display. Updated all system software, and still no improvement.
I've uninstalled and re-installed Origin, spent an hour on the phone with Origin tech support and did all troubleshooting suggested. I'm at a loss and don't know how to proceed. I did all the tech trouble shooting I could.
